The Sun was the supreme God of the Incas, and June 24th was considered the solar New Year, celebrated with the lavish festival of Inti Raymi. This festival is now recreated every year starting at the Temple of the Sun (the Qoricancha), moving to the Plaza de Armas, and finishing with a flourish of music and dance at the Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman. Join us for this incredible spectacle while also visiting Machu Picchu and participating in a traditional Andean Offering to the Earth Mother to prepare yourself for the rite.
