Inca Trail 2 Day/ 1 Night

OVERVIEW

Our 2-day version of the famed Inca Trail is ideal for travelers short on time but with an interest in cultural exploration and understanding. You’ll begin your trek with a traditional Andean Blessing then walk along the winding stone Inca trail to the beautiful archeological site of Wiñaywayna. Our guides specialize in providing you with detailed information on Inca traditions and the secrets of Pachamama (the Earth Mother), creating a memorable and culturally informative trekking experience. After a short day hike, be prepared to stand high above Machu Picchu and gaze down in awe on this modern archeological Wonder of the World. You’ll leave with a much richer understanding and appreciation of Inca traditions than ever before.

Inclusions:

  • Pre-departure briefing.
  • Healing Activity – Andean Blessing by an Andean Priest for protection during your trek.
  • Pick-up from your hotel in the morning and transfer to Ollantaytambo train station.
  • Inca Trail and Machu Picchu entrance fee.
  • Specialized Professional Bilingual Guide (2 guides for groups of 9 people or more).
  • Meals as listed, (1B, 1L, 1D). Vegetarian and other dietary requirements can be accommodated at no additional cost.
  • First-aid kit, including emergency oxygen canister.
  • Bus ticket from Machu Picchu to the town of Aguas Calientes on the 1st day.
  • Round-trip bus ticket: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes on the 2nd day.
  • Train ticket from: Ollantaytambo to Km. 104 and from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo. Default backpacker train service, higher-end Vistadome service available upon request (see below).
  • Transfer: train station – hotel in Cusco on Day 2
No Included

  • Breakfast on the first day, lunch on the last day.
  • Visit to the hot springs in Aguas Calientes. This is a relaxing way to end-up the trek while you’re awaiting the return train to Cusco. Only 10 minutes from the village center, entrance fee is Peruvian Soles s/10.00 per person. Towels can be rented in Aguas Calientes.
  • Extra costs.

You should bring:

  • A backpack with extra clothes.
  • Rain jacket or poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Cusco)
  • Footwear, ideally supportive hiking boots, but low-cut hiking shoes will also work.
  • Camera, memory cards and batteries.
  • Flashlight and batteries.
  • Hat or cap to protect you from sun, rain and cold
  • Sunscreen
  • Moisturizer for face and body
  • Insect repellent-minimum recommended 20% DEET – no malaria risk.
  • Snacks: biscuits, energy bars, chocolate, fruit, etc…
  • 2 liters of water
  • Swimsuit (if you wish to go to the hot springs in Aguas Calientes)
  • Cash in soles and / or dollars.
  • Original International Student card. (In case you have applied for a student discount)
  • Optional: walking sticks.

Optional services to be hired:

  • An extra porter to carry your personal items: US$ 70.00 / 2 days. A porter can carry up 15 kg, which should be enough for 2 people, leaving you with just a small daypack to carry.
  • Vistadome Service train (Superior) instead of the Expedition one (Tourist train), at an additional cost between US$ 20.00 to 30.00 per person. (*) Please note that our guide travels back to Cusco in the Expedition train in all group services, so if you wish to book this extra service, you will not be accompanied by our guide.
  • Hiram Bingham Luxury train instead of the Expedition one (Tourist train), at an additional cost of US$ 350.00 per person. This train departs Aguas Calientes at 5.50pm and includes a gourmet dinner and animation on board, with an estimated arrival time to Poroy train station at 9.16pm. Please note that our guide travels back to Cusco in the Expedition train in all group services, so if you wish to book this extra service, you will not be accompanied by our guide
  • Sleeping bag rent: US$ 10.00 / 2 days. Our sleeping bags are –18ºC-comfort (0ºF) and mummy form and include a sleeping liner. They are cleaned after every use.
  • Therm-a-rest inflatable sleeping pad rent: US$ 10.00 / 2 days
  • Massage sessions: US$60.00 per 1-hour session (US$50.00 per session if at least 2 sessions are booked). Our massage therapists have the highest recognition in Cusco and offer the following treatments: relaxing massage, stress-relieving massage, spinal column massage, energizing massage, Inca massage, altitude problems, aroma therapy, therapy with honey, therapy with glass, therapy with stones, foot reflexology, shiatzu, reiki and puddle of flowering. We recommend massage sessions before and after your trekking program. Services are at the hotel and are available in Cusco and Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu).
