San Pedro is to the Andean Sierra what ayahuasca is to the Amazonian jungle: they are the sacred plant medicines of their respective regions. While an ayahuasca experience is very internal, San Pedro externalizes you and connects you with the environment and people around you. San Pedro (Trichocereus pachanoi) is a vertical cactus reaching a gigantic size. It grows in Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru. In the two last countries, it is used in shamanic rituals and is the cactus with the third highest concentration of mescaline. Plant mescaline has been used by shamans in North and South Americas for millennia. It is considered to be sacred medicine and helps with the expansion of individual consciousness, opening hearts, and spiritual growth.
