The word “yoga” means “union,” or “connection,” in this case between the body, mind and spirit through a series of physical movements, meditation and breathing originating in India. These disciplines are used in our yoga activity as techniques to heal the body and restore balance to energy fields. We can get you started on your journey as a yogi or continue your journey to the next level. We offer customizable trips according to your style and preference.
Yoga is an integral part of the mission of Travel & Healing, working to align body, mind and spirit, and our yoga classes are done as an offering of gratitude for life. Our classes offer a blend of strengthening and opening, combining elements of breath work, meditation and philosophy into each class. We use the fundamentals of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (Ujjay breath and bhandas), to create the flow that we need to purify our bodies. We combine this with the principles of alignment of Anusara Yoga (opening to grace and muscular, organic energy) to give the refinement and beauty that our yoga practices need to be fully expressed and to gain more understanding of our true selves.
Practitioners of all levels are welcome to share in our enlightening and relaxing yoga practice in the city of Cuzco. We offer group and private yoga classes either at our yoga center or in nature on one of our yoga hikes. On our yoga hikes, we start in the San Blas neighbornood of Cusco and hike up to sacred sites for class. We create a unique yoga practice with meditation hikes for our groups.
