Rainbow Mountain

OVERVIEW

The simple act of walking, taking in the landscape and observing the character of a mountain or any other natural spot makes you feel alive and connected to the land. Vinicunca, also known as the “Mountain of Colours” or “Rainbow Mountain,” provides us with a natural colour palette that is hard to find anywhere else on Earth. Your experience will be enriched with Peruvian gastronomy and cultural sustainability. As with all our programs, our purpose is to provide professional and personalized service of the highest level, with one of our primary focuses being your safety. This is especially important on such a high-altitude hike (see our safety precautions at the bottom).

Inclusions:

  • Andean Blessing (Ancestral Ceremony for  protection with a local shaman)
  • First aid kit including oxygen
  • Transport: Cusco – Trailhead – Cusco
  • Breakfast, Snack, Boxed Lunch
  • Professional, bilingual Trekking Guide (English – Spanish)
  • Emergency horse and wrangler for groups of 5 people or greater.

Not Included:

  • Dinner
  • Gratuities for the guide and driver
  • Optional services for hire: horse and wrangler $35USD (round trip), Hiking Poles $ 4 usd per pole, Rain Poncho $ 5usd per day.

You Should Bring:

  • Comfortable backpack for walking
  • Hiking boots (Due to the height of the trek there may be some sections where snow has fallen.)
  • Walking sticks
  • Sun hat for the sun, sunblock and sunglasses
  • Raincoat or poncho
  • Warm clothes to be worn in layers, including a hat and gloves
  • Camera.


Optional services to be hired:

  • Sleeping bag rent: US$ 5.00 / 1 days. Our sleeping bags are –18ºC-comfort (0ºF) and mummy form and include a sleeping liner. They are cleaned after every use.
  • Therm-a-rest inflatable sleeping pad rent: US$ 5.00 / 1 days
  • Massage sessions: US$60.00 per 1-hour session (US$50.00 per session if at least 2 sessions are booked). Our massage therapists have the highest recognition in Cusco and offer the following treatments: relaxing massage, stress-relieving massage, spinal column massage, energizing massage, Inca massage, altitude problems, aroma therapy, therapy with honey, therapy with glass, therapy with stones, foot reflexology, shiatzu, reiki and puddle of flowering. We recommend massage sessions before and after your trekking program.
