Social Projects

SOCIAL PROJECTS:

HOGAR MADRE TERESA CALCUTTA: The Missionaries de la Caridad run the Mother Teresa of Calcutta home for mentally and physically disadvantaged individuals, as well as orphans. We aid them in the care, cleaning, feeding and laundry, and in giving the kids some extra much-needed attention.

SAN FRANCISCO DE ASIS GERONTOLOGY: This center for the abandoned elderly is run by the Sister of St. Francis of Asis. We help the sisters help the elderly with massage, physiotherapy and personal attention.

REMAR: houses children from homes of violence. We assist in organized activities for these children to introduce them to social, cultural and sustainable environmental awareness. The goal is to give them a great day out while making them more socially aware.

SONQO – Our Social Program is called “Sonqo” (the Quechua word for “heart”). We are currently expanding our social programs to include:

  • FREE WALKING TOURS OF CUSCO for tourists – all tips collected will go to the Sonqo Social Project to be used towards educational and cultural guided tours for local people who could otherwise not afford them.
  • Our Sonqo Social Project also aims to make available to local families who do not have the money or opportunity to visit sacred sites that are part of our Peruvian heritage, transportation and entry into these sites.
