Hiking in Nagarkot

Instead of driving to the airport, you will continue your journey to Nagarkot, which is only 2 hours away from the capital of Nepal. On your way you will stop in Bhaktapur, a beautiful heritage site with lots of ancient temples and fascinating architecture. In the evening, you will visit the local market of Nagarkot and enjoy the magnificent sunset in between the Himalaya Mountains from the rooftop of your hotel.

 You will have an early breakfast with a sunrise panoramic view, before starting your adventurous hike in Nagarkot. You will observe its unique flora and fauna, including pine, rhododendron, chestnut trees and much more. The nature hike begins in the forest, where you will get the chance to find barking deers, porcupines, until you reach the river. You can either go to the river or have the option to visit a local trout farm. There are many things to explore!

Today you will enjoy another hike, passing the Tamang village where you can see many locals farming on their fields. After a 2-3 hours hike, you will be picked up by our transfer staff and brought to Changunarayan, a beautiful temple that was built in the 4th century and is therefore one of the oldest temples worldwide. You will be brought back to Kathmandu and can relax after your hike.

On your last day, you can visit the local markets near Thamel in case you have time before your flight. You can buy some souvenirs and handicrafts before you are brought to the international airport, so you can take your flight back home.
